Cool

Re: My Self Built Jem

well heres the lowdown.. The body is from an old RG350DX that i had lying around which i removed the original white finish and laquered over the natural wood. Also set up a jig and cut in a monkey grip (had to be done ;P), also the trem is from that guitar. It is set up with Evo's and the scratchplate is a pickguard paradise plate. To be perfectly honest i have played on countless jems in shops and friends jems etc and this has a really unique feel to it. Very easy and fast to play and the sound is immense! Im doing some recording with it at the mo so will post up a link when there is something to listen to! Couldnt be happier with it and will be my main guitar for a very very very long time!

NICE! I love it! Is that a custom made JEM neck or is it off a real JEM?

Yes. It's obviously the one from that Jem with a natural headstock and binding that's been in production for ages.

Or it could have been a production neck that was refinished and binding added.

Re: My Self Built Jem

no idea really, i bought the neck of a dude i know up north, scale is perfect in relation to the RG body used so it all worked out! the cool thing was in the end it was very cheap to build, set aside the set of EVO's though (the edge and electronics and body were from an old RG350dx i had lying around) so all in all it was just the bits and bobs that cost a little bit.
