Question

MY SIMPLE AMP SETTING...WHAT AMP?

I am planning to buy 2 units of 30 watt amp to do make my own setting like a stereo type thingy.

i will be playing in a bar soon which we know they have there own guitar amps that i can use but i decided to buy my own amp to make my own setting and i will be familiar with my own tones and in the future i dont have to adjust my effects and everything when i got into another place to play.

i have a rg350 given by my cousin and my own modded rg320 and a g7 that i scored $100 to him also..
I am not much of the SHREDDER kind of guitar player ,like most of the Great, skillfull and respectable members of the jemsite...(IM GLAD IM ACCEPTED HERE.....hihihihi)

I played music like...
40%rock - classic rock, power ballads 70s 80s 90s
40%pop jazz - Anita baker, Gladys Knight, Bobby Caldwell, etc..etc..etc..
10%blues - jimi, eric, stevie, and BBking
9%dance - Earth Wind n Fire, Beegees, Retro
1%UNEXPECTED HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!

so the question is what ampifier brand can cover all these?
any help and suggestion from the experienced amp users?

Looks like that G7 has amp modeling built in, so you may as well use that. Check with the place and see if you can plug that thing straight into their PA system.

Otherwise, assuming again you like the sound from the G7, just get the cleanest sounding amp you can (probably something solid state) and use the G7 for all the tone.

Buddy, you're freaking out. lol

Just kidding.

Honestly, if you've got money, I'd go the VOX AC30 route. 30 watts, all tube, and mine takes AWESOME pedals (GT-10 in particular). It's about as classic as you can get.

If you are using the models in the Zoom, you don't need an amp, just get a clean stereo power amp and 2 cabinets.

Its best to match up tones when using a stereo pair of amps.

If you don't wanna dump a metric-$#!@-ton of cash into amplification, and still want a decent big stereo sound, I would suggest grabbing up 2 Fender Blues Juniors! They are tube, they can get respectably loud (especially if you use 2) and they are small and portable to bars and small venues and perfect for mic'ing (also cheap if you wanna buy em used).

Otherwise, jay's or rgr's suggestions are good too.

I reckon since you are using a G7 you should definitely get a small pa setup. The amp models are very nice on the G7. I always loved the JCM 800 model when I had mine.

The ideal setup would be a stereo power amp and two cabinets. I recommend the Mesa 2:90 and 2 -2x12 cabs. There is also a Marshall stereo power amp with less wattage that would do the trick.

Re: MY SIMPLE AMP SETTING...WHAT AMP?

if using stereo power amp with 2 cabs, is there a connection for line-in for the main PA system? some of the amps i used before doesnt have line-in output to the main PA but instead of a line they put MIC in front of the cab and it means if your the audience to hear the sound something kinda mono.if possible, the thing that i want my setup to be amplified by line-in output with left and right coz there are some effects that i tweak on the g7 sounded best when plugged in a stereo (Ex.headphone) like the PINGPONG delay...

Re: MY SIMPLE AMP SETTING...WHAT AMP?

this was my previous setup last year, i just directly plug my g2 to the main PA system and it does sounded stereo in the outside though my problem i dont have any monitor so sometimes i dont feel it was already loud outside that's why im planning to make my own amplification setup..
