NCD.. new cab day
okay I know, just a cab, but I though I'd share. I was using a Carvin 412 and it was 30 inches square, just a b*tch to move up and down stairs and in and out of the car for gigs. I was looking for a small sized used cab so I picked up this tiny
Marshall 8412
at a local Guitar Center. Its tiny in comparison but sounds massive. From what I found it is a discontinued model. UK made stocked with G12L-35s. Sounds great with my recently retubed (JJs) V3 head. I have dubbed my rig "Marvin" Marshall + Carvin

Re: NCD.. new cab day
cool rig - and a great name for it
I got to try a V3 once for a few minutes and I thought it sounded great - there was also a Marshall DSL 50 head there so I got to try them both through the same cabinet and I thought the V3 sounded better - and it costs a lot less

yeah, you have to sit with it for a while,,,there are lots of knobs and switches, but it really cover alot of ground. I swooped this 1st gen one up with footswitch for a measley 400 bucks
. Not a bad rig for just over 600!

that is awesome! considering what amps prices are like in the music store these days I'd say you got a killer rig for $600

Very cool man... I have the slant version of that cab and it does sound huge for an undersized cab. That's a kickass affordable rig!

I was planning on possibly replacing the speakers,(this is before I bought it) but when I first heard it I was like "DAYUM!" I had to turn the bass on my amp from 6 down to around 4. tons of low end, and smooth. I'm super happy with it. Of course it took me weeks to find one, then the day after I buy it 2 different ads on craigslist for 8412 cabs!!!
