New Amp Day!

So, I went to Guitar Center today to pick out a birthday present, my dad said, "I'll give you $-.--, plus you can add anything in your wallet and get something." So, I was looking at the mexican 72 telecaster deluxe reissue and an epiphone les paul (to give you an idea of the price range I was looking at, say it was about $550-$700), and out of curiosity asked the employee about peavey tube amps as I had previously tried and liked the XXL head. He said they had a palomino combo and a jsx head in stock to try, but that was it. As I thanked him and began heading towards the JSX, he whispered, "blues junior." I thanked him yet again and went to check it out, only to have this catch my eye, as it was right next to the blues junior:

http://www.***************.com/produ...Amp?sku=483718 (the link is to a very close friend of musicians, musician's friend for the layperson)

After some testing, and some A-Bing with a Fender Hot Rod DeVille, this baby was sitting in my trunk. And boy, am I happy. This thing oozes and drips with 40 watts of all tube power. It's got a really nice glassy clean, and the drive channel (although not heavy) gets a nice grit, perfect for blues. It's a very slight oversaturation, and I love it (especially considering I love the blues, and credit Jeff Beck and Hendrix as my two favorite guitarists).

Overall, it's an awesome amp, I love it, and can't wait to play it some more.

Pictures will be up tomorrow

Not what I would've went with, but congrats man. Enjoy it, it's hard to go wrong with a good Fender amp.

Thank god you went with the Fender and not the Peavey. I don't get the attraction to Peaveys.

Congrats, enjoy every bit of that amp!

Yeah, I chose it mainly because it was in my price range and I like 6L6's, so I checked out Fenders. I couldn't afford the Deluxe Reverb

It was either this, a Hot Rod DeVille, or I think I was considering a Line 6. This thing came out on top with shining colors, and I really like it.
