New Amp purchase suggestions

I'm looking to get a new amp set up from what I already have. I hvae a Carvin Legacy combo that I fell doesn't cut it in a band situation. That may be my first problem there, if your amp works great (cuts through, isn't muddy) then help me out.
However I still want to get something new. I actually had paid for a Bogner Ecstasy but then the store got back to me and misquoted the price by about $600. So I'm looking for something with three channels and can do everything. A new Bogner Ecstasy is $3800 with a cabinet, I would never spend more than that. Heck, $380 is fine if it's what I need. So give me suggestions through first had experience if you can, thanks.

Sorry. The amp didn't seem to cut through with the drums, bass and keyboards all playing. I was turnrd up to 5 and it still wouldn't really sound clear. When playing power chords (7 sting) the sound got real muddy. Kinda like there was no definition between notes or chords. It just sounded like constant noise. We play in a garage and the music would be rock and prog rock for the most part.

try out ENGL amps if you can. they're very versatile and they sound amazing. i wanna buy the ENGL Powerball when the shop gets it in it's about $1600 just for the head, it has 4 channels: clean, crunch, lo lead and high lead (read more about it on the website). I found a website that has some sound clips of different ENGL amps, even though most of the clips are the high gain channels.. well you'll still get an idea. http://www.rocksolidamps.com/ . good luck finding the right amp.

Oh heck man, I'd just save up the rest of the money and get the Bogner! I mean, there's nothing above it, unless you want to compare it to like a Soldano or something. I listened to the Peavey XXX head and it doesn't stack up one bit to an amp like the Bogner Uberschall. Once again though, it depends what you're looking for. If you're looking for a good new halfstack, why don't you try out a JSX or a 5150 because Peaveys aren't as expensive as Mesas or anything above. Of course, you could go for the regular Marshall but I must have something against Marshalls because I hate the idea of me playing one onstage. But for your kind of rock and for the price, I'd say stay in that area, Peaveys or Marshalls, or even Mesas if you like them. Once again, I'd go for the Bogner, but if you don't want to put that kind of cash down, there's nothing wrong with any of the other ones. Good luck!

7 strings can be evil...........lots of amps don't like them loud. They get muddy and break up at high volumes. Huges and Ketner make a warp 7 amp for 7 strings. The marshall mode four is another........read some reviews on this one.........it's a monster!
