Re: new boss me-50 or used gt5 ?

i don't know if it will be veri nice, but it certainly be cheaper...
the two footswitches and the cable for connecting them (boss original parts) retail for U$D150 here...

(I HATE ARGENTINAN POLITICIANS and their "ways to stimulate" people to buy national products instead of imported -just put imports prices so high that no-one will be able to buy them-)

i can build this for about ARG$15 = U$D5 or maybe less...

ME-50 is a great pedal, I had one before I upgraded to a GT-8. I got nothing bad to say about my experiences with the ME-50!

Re: new boss me-50 or used gt5 ?

Does the GT-8 have better distortion than the ME-50? I no it has the amp models but are the presets (e.g. METAL) just as good?
Sorry I'm just curious and not educated between amp models and preset thingy things :P

Re: new boss me-50 or used gt5 ?

I was wondering about the ME-50 as well. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the amp modeling stuff, and the ME-50 is a couple hundred cheaper than the GT-8. If the effects are comparable I think I'll get the ME-50, as I'm playing through a Roland Jazz Chorus (decent sounding).

Re: new boss me-50 or used gt5 ?

I would take the used GT-5 over the ME-50 every day. The ME-50 is a good unit, but the GT-5 is much more flexible and sounds every bit as good, if not better (IMHO), plus WAY more options.
