New pickups for S series - Also ?s on blocking off bridge

What are some pickup recommendations for the Ibanez S470? I'm looking mainly for the bridge humbucker and the single coil in the middle. *I'd like warm crisp sound for the bridge, I've heard the Tone Zone is good.

Any decent single coil pickup recommendation is fine.

Also how would you block off the Lo TRS II bridge (it's very annoying). *Do you just stick anything in between the slots? *If you put wood in between, will it improve the tone? *I've also heard that you can put 5 springs to keep the moving...thanks in advance

Do you find the trem annoying because it doesn't stay in tune or because the pitch of all strings are are effective when being one string? I assume the latter.

You can add another spring it will help. You can also get a tremsetter installed. Finally you can block the trem by wedging a piece of hardwood between the trem block and body.

Pickup-wise the Tone Zone will warm up the tone by adding more bass than the stock pickups. It is a good choice. The Dimarzio Blue Velvet is a nice complement to the Tone Zone. Check out the Dimarzio site for more info.

Thanks for the help rick...
Since I don't use the bridge that much, I'll probably just block it off. *It'll save me the trouble and the money of getting a tremsetter. *I'll check the Dimarzio site for more info on the blue velvet.

I agree - I put a Tone Zone in a 540 sabre - IMO it's a good match. *I'd put a single coil sized 'bucker in the neck position to allow that sweet, singin' "neck 'bucker only" lead sound. *Maybe a DiMarzio cool rails or Duncan little '59.
