NGD: Digitech Hardwire DL-8 and Boss CS-3

Traded in my Zoom G7.1ut and some cash today and got myself a Digitech Hardwire DL-8 delay and looper, and a Boss CS-3 compressor sustainer. I had a cheap Behringer compressor which sounded ok through my old rig, but with the Blackstar HT-5 it distorted the clean channel in an unpleasant way.

Got home looking forward to try them out with my HT-5, and realised that all my crappy patch cables are dead or almost there, and I'm short on leads due to lending some out! Dammit!

Heading off to get some jacks tomorrow so I can make some patch cables and shorter leads out of my two remaining extra long leads. My my short attempts to try out the delay unit it looks to be an awesome one.

Interested in the DL-8 and your thoughts on that. Glad to see you're still getting on with the HT-5.

Well after a small muck around with the DL-8 all I can say is WOW! What an awesome pedal, I can pretty much say at all options on the pedal are usable, and sound great.

The looper is good fun for jamming with yourself. Lay down a riff in time, and then jam over it. All delays and echos are very much usable,

I like all except for maybe the slap one, and that's because I'm not really in to that sound.

Start fiddling with the knobs and you start getting some awesome crazy synth type sounds, great fun.

It's a really clean sounding pedal too, the true bypass is just nice. You can also switch over the true bypass to allow your last delay tail off after you've stomped the pedal off.

I really recommend this pedal for anyone looking for a great delay pedal.

Sounds great and I'm glad you like it. So far, I've heard nothing but good things about the hardwire series from digitech. I'm in the market for a good delay and I'll have to check this one out next time I'm in a GC.

Definitely go check it out. I reckon the only thing that would make this pedal more awesome would be if it could store settings or loops.

Well I've finally got around to writing up a review for the DL-8. To anyone looking for a delay pedal, or in fact any pedal, check out the Hardwire stuff. they truly are great pedals, fantastic value for money, and brilliant tones.
