nice delay pedal

so many out there and ive got tired of having my amp only do delay OR reverb, i want both dammit!!
i was looking at the BOSS DD-20 and it looks pretty much ideal, just wondering if there was anything better in that price range or anyone out there waiting to say "NO DONT GO THERE!!!!"
cheers,

Re: nice delay pedal

I've been using the Boss DD5 for years until I sold my amp, and got a new one with reverb built-in. I'm considering the Boss RV-3. Seems like the perfect fit.

no, just a nice delay pedal so i can use the reverb on my amp the whole time as the reverb on my amp is a very nice sound but the delay could be a little better!

Re: nice delay pedal

Well, it depends on what kind of delay type you want. There's analog, digital, and tape. You most likely won't want tape, as it's kind of a hastle now that there's so much good tape simulators out now. Heres a few I recommend:

Analog: Boss DM-3, EH Memory Man, Diamond Memory Lane. there's really a ton of great analog delays
Tape: Ibanez DE7 (good tape simulator, has digital also though it isn't the strong point), Danelectro PB&J
Digital: Akai Headrush (my favorite Digital delay next to rack delays)

Re: nice delay pedal

I wasn't happy with the Boss DD3/DD5's so i'm now using a Marshall echohead. It has a really smooth delay sound and blends in the mix nicely .. lots of great features too like anologue mode/tap tempo/reverse e.t.c

Re: nice delay pedal

I have a DM-3 and a DD-3. I use the DM-3 for a nice soft suttle little touch and the DD-3 for when I need some extended more dramatic delay. I haven't used some of the newer delay modeling tools out there however I would imagine that they would work just as well.

Reliability is fine and the delay variations available would suit almost any form of popular music played today.

Re: nice delay pedal

The Ibanez/Maxon AD9 is supposedly a very nice analog delay pedal, though I never tried it. I'd suggest either that or one of the EH pedals for basic delay.

The Boss DD-20 will definately be very cool, but it might be overkill if you just want a relatively basic delay. However, it will probably cover all the delay needs you might ever have, so grab one if you can find it cheap enough.
