ohm question

Hi everybody quick question i have an ada microtube 200 and in the manual it says for stereo operation i can plug in speaker cabinet 4 to 16 ohms for each side in stereo does that mean i can plug in any cabinet between 4 and 16 ohms? and another quick question what is the best cable to go from a preamp to a power amp, should i use an instrument or a speaker cable?

I think. That should be fine as long as the total number of ohms from the two cabs is more than 8. More resistance than needed is fine, less, and you could be in trouble.

I'm not 100% though, so if someone could clear that up, it would probably be better.

yep, 4 or 16 ohm stereo cabs will work. Generally speaking, most stereo/mono switchable cabs (marshall/mesa etc) are 4ohm stereo, 8ohm mono. Older Marshalls come in at 16ohm mono. 4ohm stereo is a safe bet.

Your pre-amp to power amp cables will be instrument cables, preferably quality short patch cables (not speaker cables... unless you dig a bit of hum)
