A bike shop would GIVE you some spare chain, with maybe a little labour for taking it apart with a chain tool.

Yeah you're probably right. I was just thinking about the time I needed a new chain for my bike. I've never used a chain for a pedal board before.

True but if you're at one anyways you could kill two birds with one stone.
Either way though it's better than gooey velcro and impailment.

Re: "Ok pedal board, no more mr. nice guy!"
I just finished this last week. I used the bicycle chain plates to affix all the pedals. In the past I drilled from the back of the pedal board and used longer screws to go into the pedal backplate screw holes. This way with the chain works so much better. I had to replace 6 pedal backplate screws with longer ones.

Done!! whew, that was easy. I bought a couple bags of chain links for $1.49 each. I only used 2 per pedal, except the JSX foot switch I used 4. The wireless receiver stays fine with velcro, it weighs near nothing.
Thanks so much guys.

Looks good brother. How do you like that Hot British? I had one briefly and got rid of it real quick, it didnt work well with the amp I was using it with. I had the Classic and wish I never sold it.

That chain thingy is great... and my other passion is mountain biking... so, I just wear chains and can use them... Great!

The whole screws and drilling seems a little drastic don't you think? Maybe it's not the velcro on the pedals, but the pedalboard itself?

Not really. Almost all pedals have screws that hold the cover on at the corners. You can unscrew those and put the chain parts, or figurea 8 washers in their easily. Then through the remaining washer like hole you can srew the pedal down to the board. I'll show you:
there you go just like that.
Sorry it's my phone camera, but you get it.
