OMG OMG OMG!!! My new toy...

Well, I finally did it, after trying so many different preamps, I finally got a Triaxis 2.0 non phat with new GT's, and OMG people aren't kidding, this thing sounds so good, its absolute glassy tube heaven. I can finally stop searching for my sound now, this is all I will ever need. Now I know theres better stuff out there, like a Bogner Fish, or a CAE 3+, but for the price, you just can't beat a Triaxis. So here's the current rack o doom, I'm going to rearrange stuff but this is everything I have now. I need a decent FX unit to go with the Triaxis, I know everyone does the G stuff, I'd rather not go there because everyone else does. Right now I'm running it to the 882 right into the Carvin and out the the Thiele and it sounds so good.

... 3 preamps and 1 poweramp; must be fun switching and connecting cables around eh? :P
Those TS100's look sweet... Are ya running 6L6's in 'em? Does it compliment the Triaxis pretty well?
Isn't a TriAxis + Studio Pre overkill since in theory, the TriAxis has a mode for that "Mark II/III" tone?

Re: OMG OMG OMG!!! My new toy...

the Studio pre isn't even hooked up, I may sell it, It really one does one thing better than the triaxis, and thats the cleans, but is it worth keeping just for that? dunno.

I absolutely love the TS-100, its pure 6l6 tone right now, and crazy loud just on the 50 watt setting. This is a fairly unusual setup which I like, most people are running the Triaxis + a Major/Force + a 20/20 for optimal tone, I like to be different.

Thats no fun I'm a tweak freak, I gotta have control over every aspect of my tone. Heck, I'm so much a tweak freak I'm a little saddened that the increments on a triaxis only go in half steps, if I had my way it would be 0.1 for each step

0.1 increments all the way up to eleven, right?

Spinal tap references never get old.

Anyway, at the risk of sounding a bit feelthy, 'atsa nice rack there, Lefty.

Re: OMG OMG OMG!!! My new toy...

My only issue with Triaxis was the lack of physical knobs. Pecking at the membrane buttons gets annoying after a while. That said, if I wanted to build a rack, that'd be one of the choice pieces of gear I'd put in there.

Nice rig! I hope you have all those settings written down, nothing worse than a brother or sister who would mess all that up for 'fun'

Re: OMG OMG OMG!!! My new toy...

*sigh* I just spent MORE money, just came back from the store with another Mesa 1x12 Theile (Yey, Stereo!! oh, how the heck do you say Theile, BTW??) and a bunch of monster cables (ouch, $14 for a 3 foot cable, WTF?) and just put money down on a g-major, I know, I know, I wasn't going to go there, but what the hell, it is a great rack unit, and does everything I need and more. But I think I will be trading in the Line 6 and Studio Pre, so its not really going to cost me anything.

I actually like the lack of knobs, its very clean looking.

There are no children or anyone around who can mess with this stuff, I wouldn't allow it. Its the pleasures of having your own place..
