Re: Only carvin Legacy or more ?

if it's a head you need some sort of cab to plug the head into to play. But I thought the Legacy had some crappy 2" speakers or something in it so you don't have to... anyone confirm this?

Nope, no 2" speakers in the head shell. You'll need a cabinet to use that amp, and it's a good idea to not turn it on at all untill it's hooked up to one.

yes, you can use your marshall amp as a cabinet. just make sure to utilize the correct ohm setting.

The head has no speakers. Period. You'll either need to buy a speaker cab with the head or buy the combo.

If you have an amp already, you might just be looking for a speaker cabinet.

And make sure the speakers can handle the wattage...

If the combo puts out 4 ohms, then you wont do any damage but it will sound thin. If the speakers are wired for 8 ohms, then you should be able to set the amp to 8 and be alright as long as the speakers can handle 100+ watts. I do believe the Legacys have a switch to go from 8 to 16 ohms like most amps do...
