Paul Gilbert - Tone of the Gods

Anyone know what Paul is using these days, besides PGMs and Laney? I love some of the sounds on Superheroes, but I am unsure how he is getting some of those tones.

HW

PS - I know its the fingers...

Get a nice DiMarzio pickup and a 1.14 mm Pick. That's all you need...

i guess he uses tons of stuff in the studio. i'll tell you what he used recently in a clinic (6 feet away from me!)
ibanez pgm 800 (the natural finish ash model)
ibanez seven string (hardtail custom, like a purple rg7621 with the obvious painted f holes)
ibanez tonelok tubescreamer
boss chorus (ce? teh light blue one)
laney GH100L half stack
and an incredible pair of hands wonderfully coordinated by his brain!

he had the laney on a light crunch sound, lowering the volume on the guitar for clean, and using de TS for distortion.

hope that helps.

PS: i really want a laney!

I've played a lot of Laney non-tube models (haven't found a tube model out here) and I HAAAAAAAAATE the tone they get. When I listen to Tony Iommi and Paul Gilbert I'm blown away by their sounds. Paul's esspecially. I have found his new album Super Heros VERY cool. My Line 6 Flextone II amp set on Recto or Insane can come CLOSE. It's mostly in his pickin hand and fingers like everyone else says, he has amazing freakin fingers.

which laney -tube-stacks is good for like satch/vai/petrucci/gilbert- tones?
never played on *a tube laney myself ,but im an owner of an tubefusion though
how bout the vc-series? if you know about the swedish guitar-virtuoso Mattias IA Eklund (signed by the Steve Vai-labor )? he uses them and he has a pretty good tone.
