Peavey kb100?
I can buy this one realy cheap..
I am planing to use it with my rg7620 and boss gx-700..
Since i am very much on a tight budget, i have to go for something cheap..
Do You guys think this would work..?
Anyone tried it..?
Anyone has any any any experience with it..?
And does anyone knows whats its actual output strenght..cause informations differe from 75w..to 100w..to even 200w..(i know that 200w is no way..
Thank You for Your time..

Re: Peavey kb100?
My dads got one. They are a Keyboard amp (KB - KeyBoard?) and are solid. Not great for guitars but good for guitar synths.
I think you'd find something alot better to be honest. The reverb sucks too and we had a problem with ours that cost a fortune to repair and made the amp unplayable as the volume would go very loud sparodically.

Re: Peavey kb100?
As these are keyboard amps, they are not really designed for
electric guitar
, persay. You can run an actousic through them, nicely, or a bass, keyboard, or even vocals, but electric guitar will not sound the best through them, unless you are using an amp modeller, between the guitar and amp. These kinds of amps are a full range system (pretty much like a portable p.a.), whereas guitar amps are voiced for a limited range of the eq spectrum, so any distortion you run through it is gonna sound REAL buzzy. Run an amp modeller in between and you will get the sound of a mic'd amp, just louder, and things'll be cool.

Re: Peavey kb100?
I got a KB300 next to me at the minute, i put my bass through it. Just tried a guitar through it and it sounded very flat and lifeless even on a guitar ive just restrung.
The reverb is crap too, the hum that comes out when you turn the reverb up is ridiculous.

Re: Peavey kb100?
Well the KB300 is 150 Watts. I think KB100 is 50 Watts. It is plenty loud enough to gig, you'll struggle to get it to distort put it like that.
The EQ aint great, not alot of variation which is a shame.
Overall a very loud amp, but really suits being used as a keyboard amp or clean guitar.

Re: Peavey kb100?
I don't need it to distort it on itself..actually, i would like it not to distort at all..!
since all distortion i need is in from my boss..
Can you somehow check its specs about wolume..?
I need something that will for sure cover the drummer level, so that i can hear myself when playing heavy stuff..
Can you find it out for me, please..?
it is very important..?

Re: Peavey kb100?
It states "75 W RMS into 8 ohms with DDT compression", so if 50 watts is enough over a drummer, then you should be just fine.

Re: Peavey kb100?
Thanx man..i really apreciate your effort..
I am not so sure now that it would be loud enough..?
Since i need it to be really loud..cause, in some moments, my band is playing some very heavy music..especially since i now have gotten a 7 string..
Why it is always so hard to find the right thing..?

Re: Peavey kb100?
Dude, unless you are playing stadiums, I think it should be loud enough. Plenty of folks get by just fine with 50 watt heads. Only way to know: try it out. Let us know.

Re: Peavey kb100?
So, you think that this would be all right..?
sorry for asking the same thing a million times..but i am really on a budget, and wanna make the best decision possible..
Still..when people are using heads, they are usually using cabs with more than one speaker..and probably using a
tube head
..which is usually way louder then equivalent solid state wattage head..?
and this is a solid state combo, with one 1x15 speaker..
Also, if i have to keep its volume always to near max..than i guess its not good for itself, neither..?
But, i guess i dont have to keep it near max..?
gee..i am sure i am becoming very very annoying..sorry about that..!
