Pedalboard Suggestions please
I've been using a Digitech RP14 for years, then I used the Digitech RP2000. These both eventually started screwing up on me, so I've decided to get me a Morley "Bad Horsie" wah pedal, and some other pedals, and run a old fashioned pedal board system. I need some suggestions for about 4 or 5 different pedals that will help boost my solo's and give me just a little versatility for playing in a cover band. So far I've come up with these.
Morley Wah /
Volume pedal
Ibanez Tube Screamer
Tuner Pedal
Something to make my clean channel sound pretty
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly helpful.

The Danelectro Cool Cat is actually a decent little
chorus pedal
, and is pretty inexpensive as well. I was using an older Ibanez BC-9 Bi-mode Chorus before I got my current
rack setup
, and it's a great sounding pedal as well. A little more expensive usually, but still under $100 used.
The Fulltone Fatboost is a great little pedal too. It's just a 20db clean boost, and doesn't effect your EQ at all. It's great for boosting solos, and also helps make up for the lost signal that a bunch of pedals can cause. It also increases the overall quality of your tone....really a cool pedal!
For the actual pedalboard, it's pretty easy to make a nice one. But, if you want a pre-made, powered board the Furman boards are great!

I good booster for soloing is an EQ pedal such as the Boss GE-7. You can push up whatever frequency you want and the overall level.

I loved my GE-7, too bad it got stolen from my car with all the rest of my pedals.

It looks like generally everyone like the
BOSS pedals
the best huh?
Thanks for your suggestions, oh and I've never seen a red ibanez turbo screamer either. Something to look for I guess.
The Fulltone Fatboost sounds really interesting also.

I would suggest that you limit the number of boss pedals to a minimum (1 or 2). They're very noisey. Look into Maxon & TC electroinc.
Also, check out
www.analogman.com
for very cool mods. He sells new pedals with mods installed. I have DS-1/PRO by him and it's very smooth.

I have to go with Dave on this...too many Boss pedals will suck the tone right out of your signal...and they don't have true bypass so when they're off, they aren't really off, they just rob your signal.
Fulltone and Menatone make great pedals. A little pricey, but I've come to realize you get what you pay for in the pedal market. I'd start there looking for a boost or something to push some tubes.
As far as making your clean channel sing...nothing beats an analog chorus pedal. I have the
Voodoo Lab
Analog Chorus and it is just glorious, beats the crap out of anything Boss and they aren't that much more. Analogman has one as well but it's like $230...that's just too much.
You will also want some delay or echo. You should run this through an effects loop if you have one. I went through 3 or 4 units finding myself very dissatisfied with the run of the mill stuff. Then I tried the Line 6 Delay modeler. It's expensive, but it sounds wonderful and the flexibility you get with it is just awesome. And it is true bypass as well.
I also have a Boss Phaser (old as the hills) just for some weird sounds.
Rule of thumb....look for true bypass stuff and don't feel you have to settle for the Ibanez/Boss/Digitech stuff....there's more out there. Look at MXR, Guyatone, Fulltone, Analogman, Diaz....the list goes on.

I think he means Turbo Tube Screamer by Ibanez, although it's green not red. It has 3 extra modes to fatten up the original TS9 sound, which it also does.

Here's what I've bought so far,
I got the heavy duty, "Rockcase" pedalboard. No power in there but it's big silver metal briefcase that the top comes off. This thing will take a bullet!!
Now the pedals I bought, I may have to return after reading Dave and Gresh's posts about how the Boss pedals don't have true bypass. UGH.
Boss GE-7 EQ
Boss CT-2 Tuner
Boss Metal Zone
Boss Chorus
I would like to check out other brand names of pedals, but I wanted to be able to power all the pedals with the help of the CT-2 tuner pedal.
I am in the market for a Bad Horsie, and I wonder if I can power it off of the CT-2 as well. There is so many different pedals out there, that I could spend months checking out pedals. It's fun to think of all the different things I can try now.
Thanks for the info guys, your experiences help others like me!!!

I wouldn't sweat the "true bypass" deal. I have 5 boss pedals in a row and I can't hear any difference when I cut the loop.
It is more annnoying if I put my MXR dist+ (true bypass) in the loop and listen to the speakers go "CLICK!" everytime I use the switch.
