Permanent Tremol-No

has anyone had any experience with installing a tremol-no in the trem cavity of an RG (specifically a 1527)?

I love everything about this guitar except I've decided I want it to be hardtail for double-stops, and would like to install the tremol-no and put the cover plate back on, leaving it in there permanently. Is there enough space between where the tremol-no sits and the back cover to do this?

I haven't done it to a 1527, but I think you should have enough space. Although having the cover on defeats a lot of the purpose of the Tremol-no since you can't lock and unlock it (unless you cut a hole). If you don't ever want to unlock it, maybe you should just block it with a wood block and save the cost of the Tremol-no.

A properly installed one should allow you to put the cover back on. If the anchor screws are at an angle, it might cause the 'No to buckle up a bit thus causing you to have issues with the cover.
