Pickguard on a mahogany/maple top body??

I´m going to order a hand made luthier body for my old RG560. I´m still not sure on the wood, but the idea is a pickguarded body(H-H). I only like mahogany sound if it has a thick maple top, so...how would this sound??Never seen a pickguarded top. Any idea for the bridge pu´? I love PAF pro´s, but for mahogany maybe i´ll need a hotter one.
Thanx.
Urko.

I've had great luck with the DiMarzio FRED in the bridge position on mahogany bodied guitars. I've got one in my RG-ARCH, my USA Custom Exotic (mahogany & maple) and my JS models. Sounds great in all of them!
