Pics of the new Strat body
So I made this Strat, I've posted photos of it several times here. The relic body was starting to annoy me so I ordered an
alder body
from Eden guitars. You've probably seen thier stuff on ****. It's very cheap, made overseas I think and shipped out of Canada. Anyway the body arrived yesterday and it worked out great. It looks good and sounds warmer than they ash body I had before.
There are a few imperfections in the body. The neck pocket is not super tight. I know thats important to some people. Also if you get the light to reflect just right on the body you'll see a slight dimple somewhere on the front. It's not perfect but not bad either especialy since they sell so cheap.
Here are the pics......

Looks good, man.
If I may ask, how are you liking those Graph Tech saddles? I'm thinking of switching out for those at some point.

Re: Pics of the new Strat body
I like em. I'm not sure I like the look so much but they work. I like to be able to use my trem so the graphtec's help. I'm breaking strings at the bridge of my Parker so I need to buy some for it.

Re: Pics of the new Strat body
i dont even like light blue and i think that guitar is great.
is that an
ebony board
? it looks great.
also, what are the downsides to the 'not tight enough' neck pocket?
Is it wobbly? Or does it give less sustain?

Yep
Ebony fretboard
, jumbo frets.
A not tight neck pocket is not wobbly, just some people think a neck pocket has to be super tight and perfect for optimal tone and sustain. I think it's all the same once you tighten those
neck screws
. And it's close enough, just not super tight.
No peizo, just graphtec saddles.

Re: Pics of the new Strat body
Thanks, oh and thats a nice new coat of
Tung oil
on the back of the neck. I had laquer on it, sanded that off and added about 5 coats of Tung oil. So much nicer to play now.

Re: Pics of the new Strat body
Thanks, just like Michelangelo had great paint brushes.
Just kidding. My camera is a Canon 300D. (soon to be upgraded I hope) The lens I used for these is a Sigma 17-70mm. Really an excellent lens. The Sigma 17-70mm is getting to be a lot of people's favorite lens for good reason.

Re: Pics of the new Strat body
replacement. Nothing original really. Standard USA
Strat bridge
, tuning keys,
neck plate
, input jack, knobs and single coils. The rest is aftermarket stuff.
