Please compare Digitech 2101 and Rocktron Voodu Valve

Hi,

i know that there quite some post floating around that touch the preamp topic but i'd like to get more into the detail....

So, does someone has experiences with both units ? My main question is: How does the distortion (mid-to high gain not insane gain!) of the Voodu Valve sound compared to the Digitech ? What has a more "natural" and less digital sound ....Please describe!

AND: What unit is better for direct recording ?

About the 2101:

it has a real complicate interface,
and the preamp seccion could be
a little better.

Sounds good with a mesa 2:90,
Gibson Les Paul, but a used JMP-1
worths much more.

I had the best sound with my 2101 when i used it with my freinds 290, sounded huge with bbe 442 and 2 ADA (2 x 12)'s, and my uvmc and ebmm evh. I dont know much about the voodoo valve, i did try one but chose to get the 2101, i have upgraded it to the artist as well.

I am not much help really.
