POD...clean tone?

I had a buddy who had issues with his clean tone. *All I can say is just make sure most of your levels, like the pre-amp level and all that are at normal levels. *He found out later on that all of his EQ, gain and volume levels were pretty high, and that's where he was losing the clean sound.

POD...clean tone?

grab yourself a set of midi cables and head over to the line 6 website and download some patches from the system. all you have to do is type in the amp model or artist youre looking into. *sorry but there isnt any paul gilbert floating around out there. i tried to cop alot of his sounds and came closest in "marshall territory".

POD...clean tone?

First and foremost, try the preset which has the Roland JC-120 amp model.

With very few modifications, this is the clean sound I use on my Pod - and it is BONE CLEAN with nary a hint of distortion.

Barring use of this (or the Line 6 Clean) patch, you can make just about any amp model on the Pod clean. *Just remember the following:

Turn off the channel boost.
Turn off the distortion boost.
Back the drive down to around 1 or 2
If it still sounds grindy, you might need to turn off the EQ boost, but I have that that turned ON for the JC-120 settings.

If you don't have a floorboard to easily turn off the boost settings, check your manual. *You get to those controls using the TAP TEMPO button in conjunction with other knobs.

Also, the JC-120 model on the Pod 2.0 sounds much better than the one on the original Pod...
