POD Pro? *Something else? - need something good for recordin

So, I've had 2 2101's, and a 2112 in the past. *I thought the 2112 was outstanding save for the lack of a headphone jack. *Now I just have a few stomp boxes and an amp, but I'd like something for playing live and recording (mainly recording). *I've been looking at the POD Pro, and while it doesn't look nearly as cool as the Digitech stuff (obviously I don't care about looks), it seems to be held in pretty high regard. *

So, I'm looking for opinions from people that have used this setup....and hopefully that have also used a 2101 or 2112 as well, for comparison. *

Also, what are the advantages of the Pro over the 2.0? *I don't necessarily need a rackmount, but I would like the capability of adding the foot contoller for playing live.

Thanks in advance!

I guess now I'm looking at the 2.0 rather than the pro...since I don't want a rackmount setup. *I see that it can use the floorboard too, so that would be sweet. *I'm going to order it, and if it sucks I'll just send it back. *

Josh, a couple things:
If you have a sizeable store near you, you may want to try a couple units out. *I prefer the Yamaha DG Stomp, and some others like the Johnson J-Station. *Nobody PREFERS the Behringer V-Amp that I know of, but it's the cheapest of the lot...

And all these can be had cheaply on ****. *If you have full return privileges from wherever you're ordering, go ahead. *If there's restocking fees, you may want to give the used market a look.

Thanks Jesse,
* * I ordered it, and it will be here tomorrow. *I've got a mess of stuff I need to record, so I'll get right to testing it out. *If I don't like it, it'll go back. *I could try it in a store, but if I can't sit down in a store and record with it, I won't know if I'm going to like it for recording. * *I'll post again after I try it out tomorrow night.

My new POD 2.0 arrived today, and I had a chance to play with it for 20 minutes on my lunch break. *So far I'm impressed! *Straight into headphones, it sounds like I'm hooked up to a real live amp! *That's what I was going for...as the 21xx sucked for direct recording. *I'll post more once I get around to recording something with it.
