POD v2 - Just got it and need to ask some basic things
The model I like most is the
Dual Rectifier
tremoverb, however it sounds thicker, juicier and much more EVIL than the Rectifier#2 Dual Rectifier.......Is this normal??
Also, the drive channel of the Mesa MkIIc+ is totally dull, sounds like an overdriven
fender twin
, again, is this normal??
BTW - what stuff came in your box?

I know there is 2 Rectifiers...and 1 sounds better (IMO) I don't really care what the amp models are personally. I just look at it as a little different tone....because everyone is always like "this doesn't sound liks this one" who cares!?!? it's sole purpose is to create tone. It creates lots of good ones. That's all I care about.

For me, vampire made a REALLY good statement there... why do people expect a $300 POD to replace stuff that costs 10x more... I mean, it may resemble those amp but has a bit of itīs own "sound" which I really like. Some people bash the POD not because it doesnīt sound good, just because it doesnīt sound exactly like the amp dialed.

Keith, it's normal. But you can do some changes to print your own personality.

I have a Flextone II, and noticed the same things. *But I don't really care. *I like the Rectified 2, the Rectified is also good, but not as crisp and clear, and the other one I just don't even touch (haven't had a reason to yet). *Everyone has their own tastes, and different amps are good for different types of music.

Okay guys...I got the point and I definiately wasn't expecting it to sound as good as it does, but given that my shipment was partially stolen [the POD footswitch] I just wanted to check the POD wasnt fu*ced up too.

That sucks, sorry to hear it, I know you are busting tail to get ready for that show.
What you describe about the two rectifier channels being very different is true. *The
dual recto
head model is much brighter and buzzier than the rich and creamy tremoverb model. *I have found the brit high gain model to be a good blend of the two. *The recto head model does cut through nicely however, just watch the higher freqs.

Hehe...tnx for the moral support Gresh. Believe me it is truly appreciated. I'll have to do the technical rehearsal without the f/switch.

If you have some pedal with midi capabilities you can control POD with these midi settings, like Digitech RP Series, Zoom, etc

POD v2
I just got a POD for Xmas, so far so good. *I really enjoy playing through headphones for a change, especially late at night.
I did notice that the paint chips off this thing REALLY easy, I accidently dropped one end of my guitar cable from about a foot above the pod and the I chipped a little piece of paint off. First time I was about to plug it in too! pisses me off hehe.
The contents of my box were as follows:
POD (duh)
Manual + SounDiver CD
Power Supply
Registration Cards
Wish it came with the damn floor board though

Ok thanks pureshred. There was an empty area sectioned-off with cardboard and I thought they stole something else, but fortunately I had all the things you mentioned.
