Re: pod xt through laptop

You will need to plug the XT in through the mic in on the laptop.

AFAIK, only the XT Pro will let you have sound through USB.

Re: pod xt through laptop

with my pod xt pro i use garageband to "monitor" the pod's input. and play it through the speakers. Should be possible with the pod xt too. Otherwise it would be a useless recording device

Re: pod xt through laptop

The speakers in you laptop will sound like A$$ anyway just get a cheap monitor speaker set in stereo (like computer speakers) and an apropriate adapter set up and plug straight into the speakers from the POD. You will get less lag (delay) that way and more acceptable sound quality at low levels which is what you are looking for I assume. AND usb to computer I use the gearbox it works fine. Also you can try reaper for recording it's basically free. (30 day trial)
