Possible to connect from guitar+pedals straight to cab?

Hey guys, ive decided to start moving up (equipment wise). ive had my eye on a used gt-8. I want to get marshall celestion speakers with it, because they simply sound amazing in combination. However, i dont want to buy a head. is it possible to have the guitar run through the gt-8 straight into the cab? thanks alot

You are Better off getting a power amp of some sort. I don't think that you'll get much volume at all hooking the GT-8 as it doesn't have a power stage.

Another alternative is to buy a mini PA. Put the GT-8 straight into the PA.

A cab won't do much for you unless you have a power amp of some sort.

You could also get something like the Crate power block or similar as an alternative to a PA. It's small and not difficult to move around if you're worried about portability. If money is more a concern, look for something on the cheap on the bay or CL.
You can certainly plug it in and see for yourself what kind of volume you have with just the GT-8, but I would anticipate the need to run it with some sort of power section.

Electro Harmonix makes a pedal called 22 Caliber, which is a 22 watt power amp foot pedal. never heard it, but it sounds intriguing.
