Post your first guitar

After seeing the Jackson/Jem hybrid I thought of my first guitar which is at least 16 years old now

This is a Kramer XL2,I scratched off the XL2 because I thought it made it look nasty!
You may notice I filed the bottom horn like the Green Meanie.I burnt the pink knobs like the PAW Jem.I cut the pickguard out inspired by the RBM! Oh dear!
It also has a Dimarzio Paf Pro which doesnt work and is very poorly installed.
Despite this guitar being nasty I love it! I cant play it,but I'll always keep it.

Anyone else done terrible things to their guitar?Still have your first? Lets see 'em

Re: Post your first guitar

This is my first guitar, electric guitar that is. I borrowed many acoustics but they were never mine. So I bought this off of my friend when I was in highschool for $100.oo and I still have it to this day...It's a 89-91 Fender Squier HM3 BRB Crackle...Everything is still stock on it except for the strat-style knobs that I just put on there last year...I am going to replace the trem and pickups probably along with all the electronics as well considering that the guitar is almost twenty years old...Besides that, the guitar is in great condition except for the headstock was cracked and professionally repaired before I bought it but it's a neckthrough and it plays great, the neck is very similar to the Ibanez Wizard II neck but a little more rounded...

Re: Post your first guitar

She is my first guitar (actually a custom order in 89 by a long-lost Greek luthier named Vrachatis -RIP).

A friend of mine schemed the electronics: 3 on-off mini switches, 2 Hum-split-single coil, one volume, one tone.
Mahogany body, bird's-eye maple top, ironwood fretboard, maple neck, 22 frets, one of the lowest action necks I have ever played.
As for PU's she sports a Silverbird (B), a HFS PRS (N) and a single coil (M) from a calibrated Seymour Duncan Strat set.
Kahler Spyder, back routing (a 5th on G string).
Not used in live situations anymore, just for studio

Heres my first one, 125.00 at a pawn shop. It's a Kramer Pacer Deluxe It's still one of my favorite guitars, prolly cuz of the sentimental value. But she still plays and sounds great

Re: Post your first guitar

I wish I still had mine (for sentimental value).

Mine was a Peavey Patriot. I loved that guitar and played it all the time. Then I went to college and someone laughed at me about having a crappy guitar. Being young and dumb I thought I had to get rid of it right away. I traded it toward a Charvel 375 which I still have today, but I sure wish I had not traded in the Peavey just because of some idiot I never talked with again....
