Question

Pre and Power Amp Questions

Hi guys.. I'm wanting to use something like a Pod or Behringer for a pre amp and then I'd like to use a tube power amp.. running into a cab. Is this possible? I've never tried anything like this.. What's a good power amp? I want something that has good power amp compression.. I love for instance the old Mark2 Marshalls.. God I love that sound..hehe.. But I also like Fenders Twins, etc.. I'm just tired of combos and I don't want to invest in a total head / cab rig.. I want to be a little more versatile..
Also, what can I get that maybe has a tube power amp that I can plug into the PA / Mixing board? I'd love to be able to do that.. I don't want to go directly from a POD for instance to the PA or board as I'm afraid I don't get the compression and feel that I'd get from a tube amp, but I have never owned a POD, so tell me if you get the same feel as you do with a tube power amp cranked? I mean like you do when moving air and speakers in the power amp section? That's when the sweet sound kicks in, and I want that..
Thanks in advance..
Tim
