Problems with UK guitar retailes selling used kit as new?

Hi,

Am I the only person who's noticed that on several occasions UK retailers are selling equipment (effects/guitars) that are supposed to be onopened, brand new, where in fact these items are sometimes customer returns that have been 'cleaned' up. God that p*sses me off. The latest cowboy outfit are imuso.co.uk, the best they could offer was for me to pay for the return shipping and they send another' brand new' unit out (in this case a ZOom G9.2tt)! So another £10 on the item cost to me, thanks guys.

These people need to be named and shamed.

I've had this problem too, on a couple of things. I can't remember the name of the shop but it's the one that always has the huge advert in guitarist magazine. It was quite a few years ago but they did pick up the tab for the return postage.

In my experience, almost everything they sell is "new" but has been on the shop floor, getting used, tested, bumped into, messed about with, often for months, (so its actually been used more than if someone had bought it, making it very much second hand!), so almost thing is "new" as I understand the word.
