Probs with clean channel on Tremoverb - only comes out low v

Hello everyone -
I just got a used boogie tremoverb combo, and the drive channel seems fine, but the clean channel (either mode -blues or clean) are very very low volume...I can have the gain at 12oclock, and the master ALL the way up, and it's like my legacy combo on 1. *I replaced the tubes, and it didnt change anything... the drive channel seems to work fine - loud as hell....any ideas? I have tried every combination as far as bold/spongy, silicon/tube rectifier settings - everything, but the clean channel just has no volume to it...any input is appreciated...sometimes the clean channel gets crackly , too...lilke i said, i replaced the tubes and it didnt change anything... any help is appreciated guys...thanks...Shawn

I had one of those for a while myself. *Never had a problem. *Im not an amp tech or anything, but I'd say you're looking at sending it off to Mesa. *Bad transformer?

I'd try a new set of preamp tubes. Stay away from Mesa, Groove Tubes, Fender, and Sovtek.
Brands you should look for are Svetlana, JJ, RCA, Sylvania, GE, Tesla, Telefunken (if you can find them), Amperex, Westing House...
Don't shop for tubes at GC or Mars, check out your local amp repair shop and/or NOS tube shop.
If you see anything that says "JAN" on it, then it's good too. JAN stands for Joint Army Navy, those tubes were made to the highest quality standards.
