putting effects into guitar body

Hi,

Does anyone know any websites that show how to wire up effects circuits inside the guitar body?

I'm gonna give it a go on my self build but could do with some info .

Cheers

I use duct tape and a patch cord...

But then again, not many people want to walk around with a tubescreamer taped to their body.

Doesn't tell you how to do it, but it shows what it will look like: Matt Bellamy's (Muse) custom guitar

I'd assume if you want it to sound like you've just plugged your guitar into it, then out to the next effect/amp then you'd just gut the effect (i.e. take it out of it's casing), and wire the guitar output, to the effect's input and wire the effect's output to the guitar's jack, then put places for the knobs, switches, etc (which you can even replace to match your guitar's existing ones, or simply for functionality).

I have a feeling that this would be a major undertaking for a few conveniences and several inconveniences. Overall, it sounds like a handy idea but think: more wood may have to be removed from the guitar and it may add additional weight, some FX sound better through the loop or after other FX, and it's another thing that needs hand operation. It would probably cost a lot less to get a small personal FX processor like a Korg PX4 or similar item that can be hooked on the strap than the cost of the companents and the installation.

Obviously, I have no real experience with this sort of add-on component but that's what immediately came to mind. I'll shut up now.
