Quantum overdrive!!!

Yeah, you heard it. They've decided to use quantum technology to make an overdrive pedal. I know a bit about quantum mechanics (a very limited amount) and can't see what would make this so special.

To me, it sounds like any ordinary fuzz (note: fuzz). Can you say 'novelty value'?

Quantum theory (quantum mechanics) is the basis for all semiconductors, so if the box contains transistors diodes or ICs, the name is correct. With the invention of the transistor quantum technology became availalble to all.

However, a transistor that actually uses specific quantum effects has only been theorised, not yet built. For intance, the quantum tunnelling which the website mentions.

In this case quantum mechanics seem like a bit of a waste; the clips are poor, lot's of noise, bad website...a quantum leap into the past perhaps.
