Question about ohms in a legacy

i own a carvin legacy and i unfortunatly cant play loud as often as i'd like so i did the whole 50 watt change and it gets to that awesome tone at a lower vol. What about the ohms though. If i changed it from 16 where it is now to say 4 would that make it quieter so i can crank the vol more get to that tone faster. I have the half stack if that helps. thanks

4ohms is louder than 16 ohms. Don't change it unless your cab can handle 4 or your could do some damage.

does changing the wattage really affect the tone at lower volumes??

ive yet to try it, that could be really good for me and even better for the rest of my family and neighbours

yes at 50 watts the amp clips (maximum tone) better at lower volumes then at 100 you just loose some high end volume thats all. I have it on 50 to keep my ears happy at lower volume and the neighboors and rents happy.
