Rack effects suggestions

I am looking for a decent rackmount effects processor to go along with a preamp that I recently purchased. The maximum I am looking to spend is $300 (so it looks like I am probably going to buy used). I was wondering if any of you, especially those of you who have lots of experience with rackmounted gear, would have any recommendations.

By the way, here are a list of features that I require:

The abilty to run at least 3 simultaneous effects
Complete MIDI control (including the ability to receive CC messages)
18-bit or higher A/D and D/A convertors
No dropouts when changing program with MIDI

Sounds like a used G-Major would be the perfect fit

Or a used Rocktron Replifex or Intellifex. If you like ambience and chorus more go with the Intellifex. If phasign, flanging, tremelo, pan, and a really decent rotary sim are more improtant to you, the replifex is the better one.

Its tough to say in that price range. Ive never tried the GMajor but like all the units ive used some do certain things better then others. Even the Lexicon MPXG2 ($1k) has weaknesses. Theres better sounding patches on a Replifex for certain types of sounds.

Theres also the Boss VF-1. At half a rack space its a decent bargain. More different types of effects then any unit Ive tried.

I can second the Replifex & Intellifex recomendations from Dan...great unit for the money, and well under your budget on the used market.

If you decide you want to pursue an Intellifex, let me know, I can hook you up with a deal.

Thanks again for the help with ordering the JC from Ishibashi...ended up with a bit worse exchange rate than expected, but not too bad.

Running any effect box in the loop in series will cause massive tonal degredation (yes, even the G-force and MPX G2), you may want to pick up a line mixer to allow the effects to be run in parallel.
