Rack System Help for New Users

go to http://www.guitargeek.com and have a look at some rigs to get some ideas...

Basically you can do almost anything you want! You can have many different preamps, FX units, eq units, etc and change all the ordering with a routing system!

As far as loops go, I find the extremely usefull. i have my preamp and FX unit in each other's FX loops, so I can choose where each effect goes in relation to the preamp, I also use it this way because it gives me the best sound, but with rack systems ther's a lot of experimentation to be done as to wjhere to put what, and it takes a while to get running, but it is fun...

you can always check out various rack builders sites :

Guitar one technologies
Paul Enders
Custom Audio Electronics

and dont forget the various manufacturers sites :

Marshall
Mesa Boogie
TC Electronics
Axess Electronics
Sound Sculpture
Harry Kolbe
Alesis

Depending on what you have you will need a minimum of :

A rack
Midi contoller
preamp
power
fx unit
speaker cabinets
lots of cables

If you have a head then that can be used as a power amp

hope this was of some help if you have any specific questions post them here

good luck

Rack System Help for New Users

Can anyone comment on the quality of pitch shift effects in the G-Force? I'm looking at getting a rack effects processor some time, but I have no idea where to go to.. it's a pretty confusing market to get into. I want something that can do similar pitch functions to the digitech IPS33 harmony machine, and have some effects like reverb, tap-delay, noise reduction, chorus, etc.
