Rack Tuners? - recommendations?

Any recommendations on rack tuners? *The Korg dtr-2 seems pretty popular, but is there something comparable(or better) for a little less? *

Rack Tuners?

i can't fully understand the desire for rack tuners sure it is handy but i bet you could just tape a regular tuner in there

if you are using a preamp (as opposed to head) you could have one of the inputs going direct into the tuner at all times

most preamps have plenty of outputs usually stereo outputs and recording outputs

this will save you a bit of cash to spend on the next thing

Rack Tuners?

I love my rack tuner, I got the korg DTR1, which is very good. It's more expensive than the other one, but the difference is well worth it as far as I am concerned.

Anyhow, it is brilliant for tuning, has a clear display and is fast. Has two switchable inputs and an overide input on the front panel, which allows all your bandmates to quickly tune up using it.

I like that one, so I'd recommend it instead of the dtr2. In fact, this is ther second one I've owned, having had to sell the first one to make ends meet at college.

James

Oh, and it looks good too! (flashy lights(!))

Rack Tuners?

All TRUE rack fanatics know that it's not about sound, versatility or any of that wussie stuff.
It's all about FLASHY LIGHTS! *The more the better. *That's why we love rack tuners

But seriously, if you ARE thinking about sh*ll
ing out the cash for a rack tuner, get a GOOD one. *There are much cheaper alternatives to tuning your guitar, and it's only really worth the difference if you either:
a) Really like flashy lights.
b) Want a strobe tuner (which is excellent, but not cheap)

Rack Tuners?

I couldn't agree more about the flashy lights  , especially when they "magically" change in front of people watching!

But yeah, if you are going to go for a rack tuner then get a good one, don't go cheap and nasty just to have a tuner in your rack, otherwise, what's the point?

Rack Tuners?

just make sure you get a Dolphin-friendly one....

I got rid of my rack tuner when I got a TC electronic G-major-it has one built in!

I had a korg DTR2 but should have got the DTR1 as it is better.

Now I just tune up with a little hand held Korg tuner before gigs/rehearsals and then in between songs with the one in my TC G major.

I have lots more flashing lights though-as you will see on October 27th!

Simon
