Rackmount multi-FX unit - Easy to use!
I'm looking for an
easy to use
rackmount FX unit - not a pre-amp, just FX. I primarily want delay, chorus, and reverb. Anything more is gravy. It also must be footswitch compatible.
Anyone know of such a beast? Thanks in advance.

The TC Electronics G-Major is VERY user-friendly, and isn't terribly expensive.

Rocktron Replifex and Intellifex. Again widely used for touring riggs and cheap.

Boss GX-700. Use it without the Preamp-Sim. Beside the Modulation stuff there are some nice Distortions/Overdrives, and very easy to use.

I can second that rec...although if you're new to these units it takes a bit to get used to the programming. Another option: the old
Alesis Quadraverb
sounds pretty good and can be had for around $100. The graphic EQ is nice gravy.

I like my Boss SX700, which is a GX700 without reamp. Sounds very good, and can be had cheap used. No longer made. Not the easiest to program, but not TOO bad.
Alesis Quadraverb is VERY easy to get around, if you like the 12 year old FX.
My fave is my lexicon MPX500. Pretty easy to work with, and sounds GREAT.

We had a discussion on the SX700 lately, with someone telling there is a gap between switching. What is your experience?

Nuts. That's right - there is a gap when switching patches on this. I only use it for studio stuff and I never switch patches on the fly, but live it would be a pain.
