randall mts worth this price

Randall RM20B 1x12 Combo Amp Amplifier with a MTS KH-3 Module worth $670 shipped, 15W 1 channel, like new condition. amp itself goes for $770.00 without modules. kh3 is $250. is the randall mts stuff crap?

Re: randall mts worth this price

I tried it and I didn't like it. In my eyes they totally screwed a good concept. When I played through it in the store, none of the modules really wowed me. They all sort of sounded the same to me and it was that same old Randall sound with just a bit of difference in character for the distortion (when I tried it anyway). If you like the amp then go for it. If you like the sound of an amp, don't listen to anyone (unless they can suggest a cheaper alternative that sounds the same or better to you) because it's all up to YOU. Your taste, your amp, your money, your passion.

Re: randall mts worth this price

I havent played either so take all of this second hand,

I hear that the egnators are much better than randalls as far as the module system goes. I know you can use some of the modules back and forth but im not positive how it works.

Just thought id mention that maybe you should try the egnator before buying anything, that is if your set on the whole module idea.

I've had the RM4 in my rack for about 2 years now I think, and you'd have to work hard to make me take it out - absolutely fantastic preamp. Assuming that the combo's are as good you'll love it, but, that price seems kind of high even for mint used.

Iv'e been using the rm100 for a year or so.Sounds great after I found the right modules for my taste.I tried a rm20 head and didn't really care for the el84 sound. The kh3 sounds pretty good.Iv'e gigged the rm100 about 70 times, pretty dependable.I also have a triaxis-2:90 setup.Neither are going anywhere!
