I don't know that it would, it's just string around the tuner same as anything, and with the floyds, you don't use the ball ends anyway, I just cut em off!

I can't see as how it helps stability, sure keeps me from bleeding alot though. I do it because it's easy, clean, and gives safe head (unlike the crack whore down the street)

Eeewwww.....But, the crack whore down the street probably cost about 1/2 the price of a new set of strings, right? *

I don't like putting the ball ends through the tuners... the ball ends and thick wraps have a greater tendency to chew up the posts.

Cut your balls off
, the whining will drown out the buzzing

Re-Strung Backwards
hehe...
well, i started putting ball-ends thru the tuners because of Steve and Joe: i wanted to be like them, so i started imitate them in anything.
i'm talking about 14 years ago, though... but i don't know which pros & cons.
Rich is right: it's safe for your fingertips, that's for sure!

Re-Strung Backwards
I used to do it, but then found that I prefer just clipping them off. This was also when i started downtuning. Thick strings are a pain to string up this way, so I stopped bothering.
So I cut off my balls, does that make me a eunoch/eligable to join nsync?
