For that price I'd go with a Line6 Spider II 210 Combo....great bang-for-the-buck!

Used 5150 combo may be worth considering. Clean is not the best around, but useable. The crunch channel, well lets say its not bad

Laney Tube Fusions are nice amps, and I think you can get one new for around that price.

Re: reccomend me an amp

Basically the whole range. I've tried the TF200 and it sounds excellent. I going to get that as my next amp as soon as I get the cash. There's the simple 3-channel TF series and the TFX series which are same as the TFs except with the addition of digital effects. You should try out different amps at your local store so you have an idea of what you want in an amp.

The Crate VTX212B is around $400-500. It sounds great and has metal distortion attitude. The clean is just as good! Try one out at a local music store.

Re: reccomend me an amp

Used XXX or 5150 is probably the best you can do in the price range.

Re: reccomend me an amp

An all-tube amp?

Seriously, I strongly suggest these amps. They come loaded with Celestions and a footswitch. Greater bang for the buck!

Re: reccomend me an amp

no its not all tube, its a 12" celestion speaker with a valve in it or something, i dont know as much about amps as i do ibanez sounds a pretty good deal to me

here what the site says

TF300-II

Three full channels with separate three band EQ for both Clean and Drive 1/Drive 2. The TF300-II features a clean channel that gives you everything you want, including a BRIGHT switch. Use Drive 1 to set up your rib-cracking rhythm tone, whilst Drive 2 will take care of your monster lead tones. Drive 1 & 2 also features a SCOOP function that allows you to suck the middle out of your tone and go from smooth, singing leads to nasty thrash, any time you want. The TF300-II features a hot running ECC83 tube in the drive circuit for those full on awesome, tube drive tone. Additionally there is a VIBE switch: which allows you to get that full on tone without destroying your neighbourhood! The TF300-II features an Custom Celestion 12" Premier speaker delivering 120 watts of true power.

Re: reccomend me an amp

No, no, you misunderstood me.

You asked, what is the Laney missing for 465 euros, and my answer was an all tube amp.

Still, for a hybrid, they are very good for the money.

Re: reccomend me an amp

I just bought a Peavey Rock Master preamp and its amazing!!! I got it for $175.00 Shipped off of Jemsite actually!!! Its got 4 12AX7s in it and its very gainy!!!! Its amazing!!! I actually sold my ENGL Preamp cause the Rockmaste sounded better!!!! I just dropped in some JJ's 12AX7s for $40.00 and now its even better!!!!

Its very smooth sounding! If I plug my YJM Strat in to it and lower the gain a bit & add some delay/reverb I NAIL Yngwies tone! If I go to the Ultra channel and use my Carvin or my John Petrucci Sig Music Man it reminds me of Petruccis tone and Marcel Coenen!!! I love his tone! (check it out at www.marcelcoenen.com hes got a Media section Check out the movie clips! Holy **** hes good!)

Then I got a used Mesa 50/50 poweramp for $300.00

Grand total of $475.00 (or $515.00 if you get the JJ's) for an all tube rack amp!

Here are some clips of one. The gain is not all the way up on them and unfortionately these clips dont do the preamp justice.) I didnt record them but Ive talked to this guy several times. (Now these are modded Rockmasters, but mine is stock and sounds just as good, he just adds a bit of gain or lowers the gain and boosts the eq.)

http://www.fjamods.com/Clips.html

Ive owned TONS of Tube and Solid State amps in the past and this is the least expensive and is the best sounding!!!

If you got that youd have almost $500.00 left over! Thats alot of beer money!
