recognizing original Bill Lawrence pickups

is there a feature by which one can instantly recognize proper Bill Lawrence pickup as opposed to cheap korean copies that epiphone is installing in their guitars(OBL whith dots following the logo) and ones Stew-Mac was peddling as "Lawrence" pick ups that were kinda bad(to put it politely). don't know whether there's a stamp at the bottom but for that you'd have to dismantle the guitar in the shop...follow me? something like raised blades or non raised blades ...OBL stamped on them or lack of it...metal ring around them...anything
thanks

I've always been curious about this too, and I've heard various theories, including the height of the blades about the bobbins, the "filled in bit" between the bobbins and the shape/width of the blades themselves.

BUT I've never been able to substantiate any of it mainly because it's so hard to find any Lawrence pickups in the UK.

The only one I've ever had came out of a Washburn N4 and was "supposedly" an original Lawrence pickup.

REAL Lawrence Pickups.

I Read somewhere All Real Bill Lawrence Pickups Have a sticker on the back of'em That say Bill Lawrence but you have to take out the Pup for that. Here is his website

www.billlawrence.com You can order right from the site. If you want
one of the DimeBag L500 series pickups there only $48.00 Clams!
Nice! I have a L500XL In one of my guitars and i know its real. Im lookin at it right now and the Blades seem almost flush with the rest of the Pickup.
When i rub my finger over the blades i can feel the blade very slightly
just like a little bump. Oh The Blades are Very Thin,Not the thick ones.So if you have one that the blades stick up out of the pickup or the blades are kinda thick It may not be the real deal!! Check out his WebSite there are som Pic's there also, if you
E-mail him he will answer your questions hes good that way.
Well Good Luck And i hope you got a Real one Cause they sound SWEET!!!
