Im already getting a great Tool tone with my JCM2000 TSL. I need a distortion thats really harsh, lofi, and high gain without sounding cheap.

Radial Hot British is great and the new Boss Metal Core is actually a balls out pedal for the money and sounds great even though it has no tubes. It smokes the Metal Zone by a mile.

Can you get a good modern metal/nu rock/nu metal/metal core ala rectifier sound out of the Radial ToneBone Classic??? I'm 99% set on buying one next month (I think I'll go for the Trimode xD)...I would really appreciate your advice elcid...

Your amp can really make or break the radial pedals. With my Orange it sounds awesome, with my Valve Jr, it sounds awful.

Re: Recommend me a distortion

I recently tried a Rocktron Sliver Dragon and it has a great tone. It has both tube and transistor, and is a very versatlie distortion unit for high gain.

That being said, it really does depend on how your amp reacts with your chosen pedal.

Rock on!

It is an all tube all clean amp (only volume bass and treble hehehe) It's an old amp made in my country in the 70's SOUNDS GREAT and always stay very clean, even if you crank it up, makes a GNX2 sounds incredible...that good it is hehehe...any thoughts..?

Just try one out with your amp at the store or make sure you can return it.

Re: Recommend me a distortion

OK, just to make sure, is the Orange "dirtier" than the Valve Jr? Which power tubes on each?
