Recording Devices?

I want something like a Line 6 Pod, speaker simulation with an eq, and some effects. Think a XT or a 2.0 a good route to go?

Re: Recording Devices?

I bought a 2.0 a little while back and was blown away. Bearing in mind my amp is a Boogie MkIV, this thing really impressed me. So much so that when I play in my duo, I just run the POD directly into the PA. Brilliant for recording too.

Sure, with some recording software. It even acts like a sound card if you plug it in with USB so you don't have to worry about any other interfaces.

EDIT: I'm talking about the Pod XT, I don't know if the 2.0 has the same feature.

Re: Recording Devices?

Which is the better choice? Pod 2.0 or XT? BTW: Can stick pedals in front of the device?

Re: Recording Devices?

The XT does, the 2.0 doesn't but is still great for recording via a soundcard.

I put my pedal rig in front of mine when I gig with the duo and just use it as an amp simulator.

Re: Recording Devices?

To put all my questions in one post, so theres less spam.

1.) Which should i go with?
2.) Is there a feature where i can mix Heads and Cabs?
3.) Do both have USB ports, so i can record straight into the computer?
4.) Which sounds better?

1) The XT seeing as you want to record mainly
2) Yes
3) No, only the XT does
4) They both sound the same (ie same amp/cab models & FX)

Re: Recording Devices?

Last question, sorry, Is there an amp on the XT that is like a 5150, or better yet a Peavy VTM series? I know theres a cab on there with V30s.

There is a 5150 model in the metal shop add-on pack.

Yep. Costs $50 extra though. IMHO you might be happy with the standard models if you experiment enough.

And yes, you can download ready made patches made by other users but nine times out of ten theyre not very good. (or so I've found)
Probably down to them using a different guitar.

Where do you get these tones at, out of curiosity. Whats the closest amp already on the pod, that is similar to the 5150?

Re: Recording Devices?

Soldano Slo-100 has a good 5150ish tone to it imo.
