Replacement for Boss Metal Zone

My pedal board has two distortions. A Guyatone OD2 (kind of like a tube screamer) and a Boss MT-2. Well last night at rehersal my MT-2 started acting up. It squeels when I turn it on. I don't think it's feedback. If I bang it around a bit it gets better for a while.
So I wouldn't mind buying something a little different but with the same kind of ultra high gain as the metal zone. Any suggestions?
Also could the noise problem be with my power supply and not the pedal at all??

Might want to get a modded Metalzone. They are fantastic.

Re: Replacement for Boss Metal Zone

I am new to Ibanez but have experience with the MT2 Metal Zone. I now own 2. The first one I modded which is great in its own right but I missed getting the nasal sound like the Bridge/Middle or Middle/Neck on a Strat hence I got another.

Fab metal? really? Those are cheap enough that I could just buy one to try it.

Line 6 Uber Metal... the heaviest sounding pedal i've used. it also has a built in noise gate unlike like the MT2.

Ya, line 6 is probably the best bet.

If not, the rocktron metal planet is nice. i have one, be gentle with the knobs

digitech distortion factory. It has a metal zone model plus ts9, ds1, dod250, big muff, rat, and an original digitech sound. really cool.

Re: Replacement for Boss Metal Zone

i like Line 6 Uber Metal over Metal Zone too.
Uber Metal have more 'body' sounding.
but you can mod the Metal Zone to get a good sound.

It also has Uber in the name, that is too cool.

I would still just buy the mt2 again.
