I've not heard that amp, but Rivera's reputation is up there with the best of them, Soldanos, Boogies, Riveras

There are some guys on the forum the swear by them

I've got both a Rivera TBR-1SL & TBR-2SL, both rack-mounted heads. They're incredible! Extremely flexible in terms of tone, and they've got as many buttons & switches as my Mesa Mark IV. If only they came in a combo... The TBR-1SL was my first Rivera, and I couldn't have hoped for a better experience! I've not played any other models, but if they're anything like the TBR series, they'll be top-of-the-line.

I'd call Rivera and ask a tech or Paul Jr himself to define the tonal characteristics and the gain structure of that amp. Riveras as a rule are very toneful amps, but different models will have different gain characteristics and be voiced differently. A rake will sound different than a TBR or a Knucklehead...but I don't know how different.

I want a Rivera TBRSL1 but I can't find em anywhere And now that they're discontinued it seems even less likely that I'll find one.

I picked up a used R100 recently, and its very nice.. I know someone with a Jake (combo), and he seems to like it - ive not heard it properly, and he lives a couple of hundred miles away, so i cant really comment, sorry

It'll be a bit less versatile than the TBRs, but still a great amp

It arrives on tuesday........48 hrs to go......come on............come on......

"Look at what I've got here Bargain Hunters, its an amp you don't see everday, some might say "boutique""....(look over shoulders)....."55 watts, 2 channels with boost option on both effectively making 4, long pan hammond reverb tray all finished off in a fetching covering of tweed"......"I've had a word with the seller and he says....blah blah blah".....

I'm sure you David Dickinson fans know the rest

Um... you can't afford a call to the states, but you CAN afford a rivera? Man... i wish my finances were that screwy. How bout i call UK from the states after getting the lowdown on riveras for you, and you can buy me one, too?

Well I really mean I never have much luck when phoning the US (bad lines for some reason) plus now I've got a Rivera I cannot afford anything Food donations greatly appreciated.

Seriously though its used and is less than a new Marhall DSL50 or 100 which are much cheaper here in the UK than in the US.

Just got to sell my Boogie DC-5 now and I may be able to eat this year

IMHO I'd take it hands down over that Marshall...as long as it's in good shape.

I brought my Rivera Chris Duarte to a get together for the LPForum this weekend. These guys are usually vintage tone snobs, but everyone that played through the Rivera bugged out. They could not believe how good it sounded, and a bunch of them said that they might pick one up.
