Sand Paper Grit


What grit do i need to take a finish off, and some fine sanding?

Check projectguitar.com and under the tutorial section they have how to remove a finish with sand paper. I used it to strip the finish off an old RG. I don't remember the exact grit ---maybe 60, then 120, then 240 or something. Get a hand held sander too. Also the tutorial shows a way to strip the paint from the horns with a wooden dowel. Works okay, but a sanding sponge is great too.

I would start with 60 or 80 then work through to 120, 240, 400 - are you apinting it again ?
if so just sand to 400, if not go all the way to 1000+
