I remember reading somewhere that when Peavey and Joe were starting an endorsement deal Joe said they need to come to terms that he might use different amps in the studio and in some cases live and that Peavey would have to come to terms with that fact.

Joe isn't getting an endorsement deal with Marshall it looks like he's simply using a Marshall for his tour with Chickenfoot.

lol, this is going to cause a sh*tstorm of controversy and comments. although his quote at the bottom makes it appear as though it's more than just using it for the tour. his quote is "what can i say? i guess i'm crazy...but i'm just looking to achieve the best guitar sound every moment i'm plugged in, and that brought me back to marshall"

that doesn't sound like he's just using them temporarily...

I noticed Peavey still has a blurb about Chickenfoot up on their website. It seems strange to me that Satch would R&D a new amp, announce it with Peavey and then jump ship. I'm kind of thinking that he's back with Marshall because, for the most part, Chickenfoot is that hot-rodded JCM800/900 Marshall rock sound.
On the other hand, he definitely sounds like he's sold on Marshall over his Peavey line-up and I feel bad for the people who'll now be selling their JSX's to get Satch's next amp when the JSX50 hasn't even hit the shelves yet. I'm not saying his amps or pedals aren't good, but it definitely makes me think about how much is a salespitch and how much is really the product's virtues.

well, the jsx is a badass sounding amp, regardless of if satch continues to play it or not. he is just a real picky guy when it comes to tone and has a specific sound he's looking for. keep in mind, satch also said the neck pickup on the standard 24 fret guitar is "useless" and sounds "horrible" to him because of the placement, lol.
