What kind of amp/cab do you have? Many people don't realize that but changing the speakers makes a DRAMATIC difference in the way their amps/guitars sound.

I love the pickup and whats more it really looks good (but you can only get em in three colors, black, black, and black). I would combine it with a 59 in the neck which is the same setup dimebag uses. The dimebucker is more efficient and focused than the bill lawrence model was. Im in love with this pickup. And its about a quarter what the emgs are going to cost

Dimebag uses an sh-1 as well as in the past he used to use a paf pro. Both will sound quite good, i think the 59 makes the guitar alot more versatile as it is a much different sound from the bridge pickup

The DB sounds great in a LP! I also have a Zakk LP and the emg's sound good. The DB has a great low end chunck while the emg's have more of the high gain sizzle.

Just a question, when he played the Dean (millions better than the Washburn IMO) he didnīt have his signature pickup made. Which one did he use until then? An X2N?

he originally used l-500's, then went to the hotter xl500, dont know if those were made for him or not, but lawrence once also made the xl-900 which is probably the hottest pickup EVER made

There are several versions of the washburn model. Most people have never played the real one. Its a custom shop model and is definitely (in my opinion at least) better than the deans

Never played any of them, but i say that because Darrell sounded awesome in "Cowboys..." and "Vulgar..." (Dean) and sucks since then (Washburn). I suppose itīs because the maple top the Dean had and the Washbur does not (not sure if those are the specs)

Can you really tell wether there's a maple cap or not through so much solid-state distortion?
