Re: Show your "Current" Rigs of doom.. NO OLD PICS ALLOWED

This is my main rig i use for clubs/concert halls, doesnt quite have the power for stadiums, but i'm not quite at that level so i'll upgrade as and when needed. It also doubles up as my practice set up I use at home.

It's quite a set up so I'll talk you through it:

amp - Marshall top of the range all bells and whistles, connected by a cable to my Distortion pedal. I feel the Thrash Master has all the tones and overdrive versatility you'd ever need to recreate Steve Vai to Eric Clapton to the Beatles. That is then connected to my guitar, I use a guitar cable for this.

I would consider swapping this rig for a Jem 77vbk, obviously the Jem must be mint condition and to make swap fair you'd have to throw in a pick.

I think you have to reconsider the pick. Your rig is not that much more worth than a mint 777vbk.

didn't sound like it at all... if he wanted to be sarcastic, he should've said the opposite like: no dude, your rig's worth two brand new, hand crafted PRS's or something.

Wanna know just how great the Thrash Master really is? When I was in Kentucky someone gave me one for free...The conversation went like this...

Me: Whoa, the THRASH MASTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!!!!!!!
Him: OH GOD TAKE IT TAKE IT PLEASE GOD TAKE IT!
Me: What?
Him: TAKE IT NOW!!!!!!!
Me: Ok...

And it's PINK!

Quicksilverdew, yup gotta say that pedal hasnt been used pretty much since I bought it in 1992, at the time I had not long started playing I had a crappy Hondo strat copy and a 10watt Roland amp that had no gain whatsoever.

Anyway I was into Metallica, Megadeth and such and that pedal and the bright yellow Metal Maniac had just come out and I read that the thrash master had more distortion than the metal maniac so I thought 'how could I possibly go wrong in buying this!!'

nice remark hutch

Judasbane, I seem to remember you could buy a stack Marshall monster, damn if only I bought a few of them instead then maybe that uvgr would be making its way to me

Re: Show your "Current" Rigs of doom.. NO OLD PICS ALLOWED

I made a guitar geek version of my rig to kill a little time. Turned out pretty good

That's basically my live setup at the moment. I was using a tubescreamer until I decided I preferred switching on the final gain stage of my amp rather than boosting the crunch for full on distortion. I also use a Weber Mass lite which really tightens everything up. The reverb is pretty much always on since the GH50L doesn't have it's own, and I use the delay when I'm playing 'clean' (final stage of gain off and volume rolled down) to level everything out. One thing I forgot, I use a Samson wireless system when performing, I just love the freedom it gives!

This is all the result of spending the last few months focusing on my effects and backline and trying to get eveything how I want it, as well as concise and practical on stage. Now all I need is more guitars...

I'll try and post a proper pic if i can get hold of a camera.
