Sick of BIG rigs?????

I'm now well into the little all tube "studio" amps/heads etc.......

My collection so far :

We have :

A Grainger (Epiphone) Valve Junior - 5Watt with full mod kit fitted

An Orange Tiny Terror - 15Watt

AXL combo - 15 watt

I was looking for a small amp for using/leaving in the conservatory for practising and i asked in Johnny Roadhouse (Manchester) that i repair for. Danny and Paul showed me/let me borrow the usual Marshall/Laney/Roland etc etc etc small tranny amps........ all sounded sh1t.

I spotted the AXL from across the room and asked about it - "Sh1T" they all said, so i took it and tried it.......... AWESOME............ just one AX7 in the pre amp but it has that real nice ZZ Top/ACDC tube crunch going on........

John being a thoroughly nice guy and a good mate of mine let me have it for £35 - New! Bargain of a lifetime.......

I've gigged with it - no miking up needed - seriously!

I gigged on Saturday night with the Tiny Terror - fantastic!

I have a 5150 head, JSX head, 2 Boogie combo's and these little amps ROCK!

Anyone else turned on by biggest ain't best??????

yeah, especially for practising in a small room. even a 1x12 tube combo is too loud to push past 3 on the crunch channel. do you have any sound clips of the tiny terror? i've been eyeing it for a while

I've not sorry Scotte - i wouldn't know how?
It has that great ZZ top - AC/DC crunch
If thats what you like - you'll love it

The gain on it actually goes from nice and clean to Metallica - with the nicest bit being around 5 to 6 on the gain.......

Coupled to a decent 1x12 they're awesome!
