Silly question time

Ok, here's one for you.

Well I know that with guitar amps they sound better driven harder - louder.

But what with bass amps? As bass is mostly clean, can I get good sounds from a 15" 200w or 300w at home?

Re: Silly question time

The circumstances of "Louder is better" only refers to tube amps. The high wattage bass amps you speak of are probably solid state so therefore sound the same soft or loud. (tone wise that is)

Re: Silly question time

That's what i'm hoping, so that one bass amp will do me, I don't wanna have to have a myriad of bass amps like i have tube guitar amps.
